Cervelo Cycles is a Canadian maker of racing bicycle frames. The company was founded in 1995 in Toronto by Phil White and Gérard Vroomen, who continue to own and run the company. Cervelo designs their bikes using high-tech methods including wind tunnel testing at a variety of facilities around the United States. Cervelo originally made frames in aluminum and some are still being made this way, though most of their bikes are carbon fiber. Though the bikes are designed in Canada, their frames are made in China like most other large bike companies today. By buying a used Cervelo bike you can get a great price on what was high-end in 2004.

Cervelo triathlon bikes feature track style dropouts which allow you to fine tune how close the tire gets to the wheel cutout. Speaking of wheel cutouts, Cervelo basically invented this, if they weren’t the first to do it, they certainly did it the best and soon after all the other manufacturers were copying the idea.
