Cannondale is an American company that began manufacturing aluminum racing and touring frames in 1983, adding mountain bike frames later. The earlier Cannondale models sported oversized aluminum tubes for increased stiffness, resulting in frames that were super-stiff and super-efficient. Cannondale, later began producing carbon fiber frames that pushed the envelope in lightweight bicycles.

Cannondale’s bicycle frame components are made in its factory in Bedford, Pennsylvania, and are also made in factories in Taiwan and Vietnam depending on the model of bike. The bikes that are produced in the USA boldly say “Made in the USA” on a downtube sticker.

Cannondale bikes are a very good value for those looking for road or cyclocross bikes. Though they originally garnered the nickname “Crack n’ Fail” the production methods have reduced frame cracks in the last decade.
